Peru: a magical country to visit
December 27, 2019
A few days ago I was in bed with the flu and so as not to get bored, I turned on the TV and logged in on a known subscription video streaming application. Turning in search of something interesting to see, I was struck by a documentary about Peru, a country hardly hit by mass tourism and which I have dreamed of visiting for a lifetime.
It will be the magic of the journey or some other strange influence passed through the screen by the Inca people, but suddenly the headache that gripped me in the morning has disappeared allowing me to enjoy this virtual experience in Peru.
The thing that struck me most is that Peru is the country with the most riches in the world, understood not as purely material things but as unforgettable experiences to live. Even if its GDP (gross domestic product) is not among the highest on the planet, it has so many wonders that can enrich those who are lucky enough to experience them firsthand.

For example, I did not know that the South American country was one of the best places in the world to practice surfing, and that the best chefs on the planet prepared their special dishes right in the restaurants of Peruvian cities. Do you think that the mix between culinary tradition and modern tastes has won the country the title of culinary destination of South America for 5 consecutive years at the World Travel Awards.

In Peru there are so many things to do that can match the tastes of any type of traveler, from the sportivone who can travel dunes and waves at full speed, to the adventurer who can penetrate into the depths of a jungle rather exuberant, up to those who enjoy the comforts of the colonial cities.
Taking a trip to Peru also means immersing oneself in experiences at the boundary between legend and reality, such as the mysterious Machu Picchu, the Inca archaeological site at 2430 meters above sea level, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the seven wonders of the modern world. the Nazca lines, that is the gigantic drawings drawn on the arid land of the homonymous desert and dating back to between the 3rd and the 500 AD, and the floating city of Uros on the Titicaca lake entirely made with totora reeds.
These fascinating pre-Columbian civilizations then inherited the Peruvians’ love and respect for nature, which is still strongly rooted in their culture.
Thanks also to the documentary I fell madly in love with Cusco, located at 3399 meters above sea level and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, capital of the Inca Empire and historic capital of Peru, and Lima also seems to be not at all bad with that contrast of its between modernity and tradition typical of the big cities of central and south America.

In short, as you will have understood, the time has come for me to organize a beautiful trip to Peru as soon as possible. I knew it, it was better if that afternoon I had fallen asleep in the throes of a feverish delirium instead of watching TV and then ending up falling in love with Peru, which also rhymes!
